For those of you who did not snap up a Tsumami Zaiku 'Kit' you can either purchase one at our soon to be re-stocked EBay store (links to be advised once the e-Pattern tutorial is finalised) or you can create your own Hair Clips from scratch.

You Will Need the following Equipment...

* 5 Pieces of Kimono fabric, each measuring 5cm x 5cm (2 inch x 2 inch)
( Alternatively, use any fabric you wish)

* 5 Pieces of Felt fabric, each measuring 3cm x 3cm (1.2 inch x 1.2 inch)
( Alternatively, use any fabric you wish)

* 1 Hair Clip (available from many craft stores)

* A small amount of wool (or buttons, beads, ready made craft 'pom pom's or anything
else that you wish to use as decoration)

* General Sewing Equipment

* Dry Felting needle and a soft Foam Rubber Mat (if you wish to use wool as your decoration)

* Craft Glue (this is not essential, but it does help to hold the 'petals' in the right shape)

P.S - Don't forget to send us some photos of your work as well, we would love to see your very own creations for our upcoming 'Wall of Fame' gallery of our fan's work...

We will also be releasing many of our patterns for sale individually as well so you will really be able to pick and choose specifically what patterns you want, or still of course buy the complete books... FREE PATTERN - "Strawberries by Design"

Hi All,

Well we have had some niggle issues as we get our heads around websites and blogs and working out how they all work but gradually the pieces are falling into place...

I just wanted to make sure that everybody was aware that there is a FREE "Felt Cuisine" pattern available for anyone who may be interested...

For a FREE copy of "Felt Cuisine - Strawberries by Design"
Simply fill out the form at the top right hand side of this blog and join our 'inner circle' mailing list. Unlike our larger eBooks, this is a book that you are most welcome to share, give away, and pass on to whoever you feel may be interested... It will give people some more information about how the whole “Felt Cuisine” series came about and also provides a good indication of the layout and the level of detail that we go into in our larger books.

Of course if you get stuck or have any questions about this (or indeed any of my other work), please do not hesitate to contact us at Info@FeltCuisine.com

As always, please feel free to leave any comments or feedback about this post and / or this FREE Strawberry pattern...

Warmest Regards

Hiromi.

An Update on our Write up at www.LivingCreatively.com.au

Hi All,

Darren here (Hiromi's husband)

Yes, we have been a little slack with our blog posts, but as I am sure all you parents out there know, having a 6 year old boy starting school and a 3 year old girl at home keeps us very busy...

This is just a quicky post to advise that the write up we received from Kerri Anne Kennerly's site www.LivingCreatively.com.au (from back in January - see down the page a bit) has been archived...

So we don't forget our first taste of Fame, the link to the archived article is ...

Speak to you all soon.

At Last... "A Taste of Italy" is finished...

Hi All,

I trust this finds you all well and sticking to your New Year's resolutions...

I am excited to announce that "Felt Cuisine - A Taste of Italy" is finally finished and is now available in an ever growing number of places ( along with the other Guides in the "Felt Cuisine" series...)

"A Taste of Italy" is the fourth release in the series, following the great success of "Cakes by Design" (released July 2007), "Sushi by Design" (released September 2007) and "Tarts and Pancakes" (released November 2007).

This 4th release brings into play our family's love of Italian food. My kids suggested that I make some Pizza and I thought what a fabulous idea... and so "A Taste of Italy" was born.

This craft guide (like all the others in the "Felt Cuisine" series) is very much a step by step, fully illustrated guide that will take even a novice sewer / craftster and show them in great detail how to create ... 6 different Gourmet Pizza's... 5 different 'fresh' pasta designs, some Garlic bread that will quite simply make you hungry... and of course 5 different Cannoli designs... because you always need something sweet to finish...

These designs look complex, but it is simply a matter of following the simple steps one by one ( that are all laid out for you) and putting them all together. Even ready to use "cut out 'n' go" templates are provided for all the designs. So all you need to do is cut out the templates, trace the shapes onto your felt and you are half way there...

As you can see at the top of this post, I have included a couple of images from the book to whet your taste buds and to give you some idea of what is contained within the pages of "Felt Cuisine - A Taste of Italy"...

As I usually do, to celebrate the launch of "Felt Cuisine - A Taste of Italy", I have reduced the price of ALL the "Felt Cuisine" craft guides to just USD$14.97, but I am not sure how long I can keep them at this price, so if you are interested... and you think that your wee one would love to become a little "pizza man" or "pasta lady"... then you may want to check out this latest work of mine...

Of course we have our step by step craft guides available from our own website at http://www.FeltCuisine.com/ ... but we have also opened up online stores in the following locations... to try and get the word out and put even more smiles on the faces of more children around the world...

Our "Etsy" store : is located at :
www.FeltCuisine.Etsy.com
Our "eBay" store is located at :
http://stores.ebay.com/Felt-Cuisine-Japanese-Art-and-Craft

Our "Indie Public" store is located at :
http://indiepublic.ning.com/profile/HiromiHughes

Our "Dawanda" store is located at :
http://en.dawanda.com/shop/FeltCuisine

Our "Mintd" store is located at :
http://www.mintd.com/stores/show/1283-FeltCuisine

But that is enough from me for now.... I need to get cracking on my next release...

I am leaning towards Sandwiches, rolls, hamburgers and salads etc.... but would love to get your feedback.

So feel free to leave me some comments, both customers of mine and those of you who are maybe not yet customers of mine... tell me what you would like to see and I will do my best to provide it...

Speak to you all soon.

Very excited... A Write up on my work...

Busy Busy, but finally people are starting to notice "Felt Cuisine"... have recently been profiled on a fantastic new lifestyle website called "Living Creatively", here in Australia.
The article can be found (at the moment at least ) at ...

Note at September 5th, 2008.
Please note that this article was archived after a couple of months (see my post from August 26th above...) So, I have amended the hyoerlink in the image below so that it will now redirect you to the new 'archived' location of the write up we received.

Cheers - Darren (Hiromi's husband)

It will be moved off the main page soon I assume, but will not simply disappear, but will be archived in another section... if / when that happens, I will update you all on the new location...

"Felt Cuisine" - The Story Begins...

Hi All,

Some of you may have heard about me and my "Felt Cuisine" series of step by step, illustrated craft guides... and some, may have not heard...

But I have had many requests from my customers all over the world to create a Blog to keep them updated on what I am working on, what I am doing, any news and to generally keep everyone "in the know" about what is coming down the creative pipeline in the world of "Felt Cuisine"...

So keep an eye on this spot... I am new to the world of "The Blog", so I will be learning as I go...

I am sure I will have questions for you all as I go...

It is also a great time of the year to start my blog... The 1st Day of the New Year...

To my valued customers all over the world, I would like to say Thank You for your kind words and your support since "Felt Cuisine" really started about a year ago... I wish you a happy and safe New Year and may 2008 bring with it nothing but health, wealth and happiness to you and your loved ones...

To my customers that are still to come... I also wish you all the best for 2008, may it be all you want it to be and more...

I will be updating this Blog periodically as I get used to this whole 'bloggin' process and as I continue to develop my designs and ideas for my "Felt Cuisine" craft guides...

All the best and once again...

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
